Founded in Guildford in 1897 by brothers John and Herbert Dennis, the company has a long history of building trucks, refuse trucks, fire engines and public service vehicles. Subject to numerous acquisitions and management buyouts during its long history, Dennis combined operations with the Alexander and Plaxton companies to form Alexander Dennis in 2007.
