One of the UK’s largest bus operators, First Bus, gave the team at Imperial Engineering a rather special surprise on a recent visit to the company’s Harlow headquarters.
Imperial has been recognised by the national operator as the Most Improved Engineering Supplier in its annual Supply Chain Awards.
Committed to growing bus usage and ensuring the reliability of its vehicles for over a million customers daily, First Bus’s awards were created to acknowledge excellence in its engineering supply chain and recognise the critical importance of its supply partners, who play an integral part in maintaining the smooth operation of its fleet.
According to First Bus, suppliers like Imperial Engineering work diligently to forecast and stock the highest quality parts, ready for delivery at a moment’s notice, whilst keeping costs manageable. This successful collaboration has helped to enhance systems and processes to mutual benefit, so First Bus introduce its Supply Chain Awards to celebrate and recognise the outstanding performance and commitment of its suppliers, acknowledging their vital role in the operator’s continuing success.
John Dwight, Sales Director of Imperial Engineering, which supports bus and coach operators across the UK with the supply of OE and remanufactured parts, commented:
“It was a wonderful surprise to be recognised by First Group in their supplier awards. The supply chain team are extremely proactive when it comes to managing suppliers but take an open and collaborative approach to help us understand the needs of their business. The data that has been shared with Imperial Engineering has helped our business refine and improve the supply process. This, alongside planned improvements to our stock management, has resulted in improved performance in on-time deliveries, despite the wide variety of products that we supply to First Bus. We are delighted to achieve this valued recognition, which further strengthens our partnership with this leading national operator.”
